Dear Diary,

    Last night, I had the weirdest dream. It had something to do with that glowing smilie I saw yesterday, but it was a lot weirder. I was walking around with Mel, because I was bored and needed someone to talk to. (It's really boring if you only have Dr. MacCormick to talk to all of the time, and he only wants to talk about how he's a better naturalist than Darwin... but I'm getting off topic.) So we saw the smilie, and chased after it, and went through several Stofer Portals, and eventually we saw both it and two others. When the two others (one of which glowed green, and the other of which glowed red) came closer, we looked at each other as if to ask what to do (I even said, "It has friends?") and we noticed that WE were smilies! I was glowing green, and she was glowing red. Then we somehow went through another portal and ended up in Mel's cabin, and in her cabin, there were tons of Smilies! We blacked out, and when we regained consiousness, we found that we were in her cabin but surrounded by many different glowing smilies!!! We screamed, and then woke up in our own beds. (Bet you forgot it was just a dream, didn't you!)
    Then today, I went through a stofer portal that just happened to end right outside a wall (so it looked like whoever went through it had just walked through the wall) following Mel, and Mary Tuna looked scared of us. Mel told her that it was some wierd power we had aquired recently, and I rolled my eyes. Then, she said that it was just like the way Random could read minds. Then, Mel asked what Mary had been looking at. She said that it there were some swirly things, and then Mel went over to investigate, and found a black opal. Mary said that one of the swirly things was green, one was red, and one was teal! I asked Mel if she thought that it had anything to do with the smilies, but Mary asked what I meant, and Mel came up with the weird idea that the smilies dance to hold the Universe together, but I interrupted her and told Mary that I hadn't said anything, and nudged Mel, because I was determined to keep the smilie thing a secret.
    However, just at that moment, Mel vanished. Just then, I thought I had seen a little bit of bright red in my hair, and I heard a whisper in my hair, "Help!"
    I asked the vanished Mel, "Did you say that?" but got no reply.
    Mary said that Mel had the Opal. Just then the squeal in my ear came again, this time sounding more urgent. "Help!"
    Just then, I started to glow red, because the smilie/Mel was next to my ear, but then I turned into a green smilie!
    The smilie/Mel said, "But I thought that that was just a dream!"
    Then, Mary started glowing pink.
    I said, "I thought that it was just a dream too!"
     Smilie/Mel said "Now that we're smilies, we can't keep it from her forever!" and we told her about our smilie dream.
    Mary Tuna turned into a pink glowing smilie!
    "Oh no!" smilie/Mel said.
    Mary's glow turned lime green. Just then, the crying teal smilie floated by.
    "Oh no, not that annoying bugger again!" said Mel.
    The smilies/us chased after it. I suggest that that smilie turned us into smilies and got very angry.
    Mary said "Let's get it! It looks pretty sad."
    I shouted, "I don't want to have anything to do with that thing!" but, then I remember that I'm a smilie, and add "except for the fact that we're both smilies, of course, but I don't want to be a smilie anymore!"
    Mel sighed.
    "Well, we don't have a choice, do we?" said Mary. "Maybe if we catch it it can turn us back into humans."
    "All right!" said Mel. "Can smilies pole-vault?"
    Mary Tuna asked what she meant. "Oh well," she said. "Then, use Super Smilie Speed!"
    We run after it, and catch it!
    "Don't hurt me!" it cries. Mary asks it why it turned us all into smilies.
    It cries, "Nobody likes me. Wwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
    "Yes we do," said Mel. "Just tell us how to turn back!"
    "You do?" it asked tearfully.
    "Yes, we do!"
    "Alrighty, then just think about it!" said a cheered-up smilie.
    All of a sudden, we're all back to normal!
