January ninth, 1832

Dear Diary,

    Today, Captain FitzRoy came up to me and asked me if I would like to be Dr. MacCormick's assistant. I asked if I could still watch after my plants in my spare time, if I accepted, and he said that I could! So I eagerly agreed, and set off to find Dr. MacCormick.
    Also, Dr. MacCormick asked me to dust his shelves. As I dusted, I noticed that his medicines were rather unorganized, so I organized them. Mary Tuna and Fuegia came running up to me and asked if they could look at my plants to see if I had a certain herb that they needed for one of the animals. I went with them to my little "garden" and asked if they saw what they needed. Fuegia pointed to my thyme, and so I gave them some, and they rushed off to Janis with the leaves. Then I got back to organizing Dr. MacCormick's stuff.
