It was early in the morning and most of the passengers were asleep, as was Mr. Crunchies! I never thought that potion would work!
I thought Katie and I could sneak past him unnoticed, but we were wrong—we stepped on his tail and he shrieked in pain! It was loud and painful to my ears. I covered them and it worked for a while, since the echo bounced off into the mist. It did that until Jake came in and shrieked his head off! I have never seen him so mad before! He scared me! I then heard Katie say "Jake, wait! It's not Emmy's fault! It's mine. It was my idea to... uh... go pick flowers! I was going to take Emmy there and also maybe sight-see and be back for dinner."
I was surprised by Jake's response. "Okay, you two have fun, but I'll have my eye on you!" I was so happy! I then felt hands grab me by the waist and put me on somebody's shoulders. It was Katie; she winked at me and led us outside.
"That was way too close!" I said while picking up Scruppie.
"Yeah, I know. Well, do you want to actually pick flowers?" Katie asked. I nodded and we went into the fields.
The grass was tall, so I was jumping around to make sure it didn't get caught in my dress. I was hopping all over the place until I was so tired that I plopped onto Katie's back. As she was walking, we were talking about what pretty flowers we wanted to pick. I said I wanted to look for some violets and she just wanted to find some sweet smelling ones. In about five minutes, we were in a huge field with all sorts of flowers around us. I could just smell all the violets from where I was standing! It was great just to be out of that stinky old boat! I could actually feel the way I loved... being in the fields— Now, donıt take this wrong, I love the sea, but I just wanted to be away from it for a while.
I was searching through the violets to see which were the prettiest to pick. Katie, on the other hand, smelled them very carefully to make a bouquet of some sweet and pretty ones. I then saw an unusual one that was black with a pink stem, I decided to pick that one for myself and find another for Katie. I looked over to her and I saw she had color matching ones that were some crystal clear daisies and some lady slipper flowers! I was amazed she got a lady slipper! They are endangered flowers, you know—well, perhaps not in this old year! She looked at me and gave a sweet smile. I looked at her, then back at the flowers. I then noticed that there were all sorts of black ones with pink stems! I was shocked, I decided to pick some more and then look for a little of peach-colored blossoms for Katie. I looked and looked until I saw some pretty pink-and-white blossoms and I picked them. I told Katie that I was done and she was done too.
Iım still thinking of the flowers... -Emmy
