I am at the crater of Fogo with most of the crew. Matt, Agent X, Mr. X, Melamina, Valicia, Lucky, Janis, Hilot, Bart, Aliaranel, and Sipho are all there. Enalia has decided to stay on the ship and tie the knots for our variously colored parachutes, while Mary Grace has chosen to wait in the dinghy. Matt calls, "Can I go yet?" Sheesh. He's going to get himself killed one of these days.
"Sure. Just make sure the ropes are tight. We wouldn't want you getting killed or anything," I answer sarcastically.
"If you say so...Geronimo!" he shouts as he flies into the crater. However, since he forgot to tie the strings, he fell right into the lava, and his parachute flew up into the sky. I heard him land with a rather unlavalike 'splork' in the lava and then call out, "This isnšt lava at all! It's chocolate fondue! But there wasn't a Stofer Interface portal here last time I looked!"
I check my pockets for the nth time for the little wood fragment I discovered on the 21st in my pocket that can create space-time portals for a limited time. Sure enough, there it is, as innocuous as ever. I call to Bart, who I know to be a friend of Matt's, "Tell Matt that he should get out quick! I created that wormhole but it won't last!"
"You should get out quick! Ignia created that wormhole but it won't last!" Bart yelled down to Matt.
Instead of simply calling for a rope, Matt grabs his sword and ties it to his parachute, which floated back down. He holds onto the sheath and lets the parachute pull him sideways across the once again lava, after which he climbs up the crater wall.
Besides this debacle, the ropes held and everyone had a lot of fun. I myself thought that it was overly reckless and that I only do it because I like volcanoes.
