We know Mr. X doesn't intend to hurt anybody, but he keeps talking about revenge and a lot of us are scared! So, I found a solution! Guess what I did?
Last night, while Mr. X was a little tipsy and sleeping I took matters into my own paws! I thought, "I'll take the knife! How do I do it? Well, I am a beagle right? Well I'll just act like the hunting dog they think I am!" I was in the crew headquarters snuggling with Janis (asleep) and waiting for Mr. X to go to sleep. Like most dogs, I have a nose, so I started pointing it up in the air, sniffed around and I could tell Mr. X just went to sleep. I leaped out of the hammock quietly and lucky (not me Lucky) my collar didnšt jingle. I remembered the scent of the knife and started sniffing for a little trail. I managed to pick up a scent and it led... under his hammock...
I then crawled under his hammock and felt the handle of something poke at my tail, I turned around and saw what I had been looking for... the knife! Since I was small enough, I could almost stand up under his hammock. I turned around carefully to pick it up. I then tilted my head to about an obtuse angle and bit the handle with my teeth. As I was walking back, I realized "Wait, I can't take this... without putting something down in return!" I took the knife and went into He (the cook's) room. I went in and started digging in the garbage for anything I could possibly use for a substitute knife. That's when I saw it—the banana!
An hour after finding and placing the banana...
Since I was hungry I decided to leave him a banana peel instead of a whole banana! Now don't tell Mr. X about my adventure, but do invite him to play cards or go ashore at the next port!
