About Page

To my long private friend,

This is my seventh entry of all I have sent you, I would like to share the story I told Mary Tuna about the girl who disappeared in the same chair she writes in...

The Girl Who Disappeared

Once upon a time there was a little girl named Emmy. She had little blonde pigtails that went down to her shoulders and was about 3'7". Emmy was almost seven years old and loved to write letters to her mother. She would write letters that took five pieces of paper on the same subject! Since she lived on a ship (her father is a crewman) with lots of crewmates and a nice captain, it was too busy for her to stay out in the open. One day, she found a nice big room that had a mini library with stationary to write on and there was also a nice comfy chair that had a little booster seat to sit on for smaller little ones like Emmy. She always was writing there and she was very detailed with her writing like Iım trying to be. She thought she lived a perfect life with nice clothes, a cute little terrier mix named Scruppie who was black with very rare blue eyes and cute white paws, and she had the perfect family! They would always let her write and they were never too busy to give her a little hug and a kiss on her forehead.
One day she was playing with Scruppie in her room when all of the sudden she heard some yelling in the captain's headquarters. She was told never to go in there but she couldn't help herself from sneaking a peak. She followed the voice trail until she was there. Now Emmy was a bit scared so she kneeled down on her knees and put her tiny ear to the door. This is what she heard...
Captain:     "What are you doing here anyway? I mean we have more than enough members on this ship without you saving so many people and bringing them on board, why can't you go take care of Emmy instead of just adopting new crewmates?"
Emmy's dad Martin:     "I am here to do my job which is to help out with the crew and make my dream come true"
Captain:     "Your dream would be?"
Martin:     Becoming the worlds best sailor! Almost like you."
Captain:     "How does that involve adopting new people on the ship?"
Martin:     "I don't know, sir."
     They both walk off...
The captain is laughing and holding a picture of Emmy...
Martin opens the door and hears an "Ouch!". He turns around and he sees Emmy with a little bruise on her nose.
"Sorry Emmy!" he said while picking her up.
"It's okay, Daddy, I shouldn't be eavesdropping, anyways."
He put her down and shooed her away to write.
Emmy was then sitting in her nice warm chair, wrapped up in a blanket thatıs pink striped; she soon fell asleep with Scruppie on her lap. Martin and Julia (Emmyıs mom) walked in and tucked her in her chair to sleep.
The next morning Martin and Julia went to wake Emmy up, but she for some reason wasnıt there—all that was left was a picture of a girl in a pirate's ship. They wondered, but all they know is that she was kidnapped.

THE END

That was a true story by Janis Cooper.
